About The Position

Sierra Donor Services (SDS) is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic External Affairs Coordinator to join their team. The primary goal of this role is to save lives through organ and tissue donation by increasing awareness and the number of registered donors in their service area. This position requires expertise in community outreach, marketing, and public relations, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The role involves local travel, and fluency in English is required, with Spanish fluency being a desired asset. New Mexico Donor Services is the designated organ procurement organization for New Mexico and is part of the DCI Donor Services family, which has been a leader in addressing the transplant waiting list for over four decades. They operate organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations and tissue banks across California, New Mexico, and Tennessee, aiming to maximize the gift of life and share its importance. Requirements

• Three plus years prior experience in community outreach, event planning, public speaking, communication, management, and/or marketing.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement and multitask.
• Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
• Demonstrated writing and public speaking abilities.
• Strong organizational skills.
• The ability to creatively approach marketing and outreach.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with the Latino community is preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish is desired.

Responsibilities

• Raise awareness for organ and donation through community events, campaigns, and presentations to increase the donor registry.
• Develop strong community and corporate partnerships to further our mission.
• Engage partners through social media, webinars, podcasts, and other platforms.
• Coordinate opportunities and events for Donate Life Ambassadors (our volunteer base) to encourage the community to help save lives.
• Other duties as assigned.
