About The Position

The Externship Program at Texas Capital is designed to provide students with a valuable opportunity to enhance their legal and professional skills. Participants will improve their lawyering abilities, including research, writing, analysis, and oral advocacy. The program aims to deepen students' understanding of the diverse skills required for effective legal and law-related work, as well as the substantive law and specific issues relevant to Texas Capital Bank's mission. Furthermore, externs will gain insights into professionalism, professional responsibility, and workplace dynamics in legal practice. Responsibilities

Improve lawyering skills such as research, writing, analysis, and oral advocacy.
Increase understanding of the range of skills necessary to effectively perform legal and law-related work.
Develop understanding of substantive law, and the legal or law-related issues facing the host organization and its mission.
Enhance understanding of the issues related to professionalism, professional responsibility and other workplace issues which arise in legal practice and in professional work environments.
Develop productive working relationships.
Engage in critical self-reflection to promote self-directed, lifelong learning.
