This position is located within the Soil & Crop Sciences section. The Extension Support Specialist I, on behalf of the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets (NYS AGM), will be responsible for maintaining and modifying Agricultural (Ag) Districts boundary data for public distribution. This involves creating and updating Ag District boundaries in various file formats for publication through the Cornell Library CUGIR website, as well as the NYS AGM and NYS GIS Clearinghouse website links. The role also includes developing and maintaining database and reporting systems, serving as a resource for stakeholder reporting, and developing standard teaching aids and materials. Additionally, the specialist will coordinate and assist in outreach and marketing efforts, such as press releases, social media, and website content, and act as a liaison with Ag & Markets to enhance program understanding and support. This is a part-time, 36-hour per week, fully in-person position located in Ithaca, NY. It is a one-year term appointment contingent upon available work, funding, and performance.
