About The Position
Overview Support programs that strengthen healthy homes and thriving communities. The Extension Home and Community Department focuses on areas such as nutrition, financial well-being, mental health, and family relationships. As part of USU's land-grant mission, this internship offers hands-on experience assisting with research-based education and outreach designed to improve quality of life. Interns will help deliver programs, develop educational materials, and connect with community members in meaningful ways. Our team fosters a welcoming, supportive environment where collaboration, empathy, and growth are encouraged. Interns have opportunities to work both independently and as part of a team, with some flexibility in scheduling depending on program needs. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in Extension, community education, public health, or family and consumer sciences careers.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree
- Have an interest in the Extension program
- Dependable
- Have strong communication and social media skills
- Be self-motivated
Responsibilities
- Program & Event Support
- Support youth physical activity programs
- Assist with data collection for policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) projects
- Assist in developing mental health and social connectedness activities for seniors
- Education & Content Development
- Develop wellness-focused social media content
- Develop a presentation on topic of interest and deliver to community
- Community Outreach & Partnerships
- Engage in Extension outreach and community engagement
