About The Position

The USU Extension Summer Intern will support community-based programming and outreach efforts within the Extension office. This position provides hands-on experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Interns will work closely with Extension faculty and staff to assist with youth and adult programming and community events.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; some college experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and serve as a positive role model.
  • Willingness to have a flexible working schedule.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work sites.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and delivering Extension programs, including youth and adult workshops.
  • Support implementation of community-based initiatives (e.g., nutrition education, wellness programs, youth development activities).
  • Help prepare materials, supplies, and set up/clean up for classes and events.
  • Engage with community members in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Assist with outreach efforts, including social media, flyers, and community promotion.
  • Represent USU Extension in a positive and professional manner at all times.
