About The Position

Stringtown Elementary School is accepting qualified candidates for an extended-term 5th grade teacher. This teaching position begins 8/6/2026 through 9/18/2026. The role involves instructing students and facilitating their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 30 college credit hours.
• Licensed teacher or a substitute holding a valid Indiana Substitute Permit.

• Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated the ability to interact with students, staff, and the community through the interview process, past experience, and references.

Responsibilities

• Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
• Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
• Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
• Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.
• Remains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal.
