About The Position

The Extended School Year Special Education Teacher provides direct instructional services to students with disabilities during the extended school year program. The teacher implements IEP goals and objectives, delivers individualized instruction, and supports the maintenance and generalization of critical academic, behavioral, communication, and functional skills. Services are designed to meet the unique needs of eligible students and may be provided during summer or other designated extended school breaks.

Requirements

• Valid Ohio teaching license with appropriate special education endorsement preferred or required, as applicable.
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with district staff and support personnel.
• Demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of students with diverse learning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to assigned students in accordance with each student’s IEP.
• Implement instructional activities aligned with student goals, objectives, and service plans.
• Use appropriate instructional strategies, accommodations, modifications, and supports to meet individual student needs.
• Collect, document, and maintain accurate progress-monitoring data and student performance records.
• Collaborate with special education staff, related service providers, building administration, and families as appropriate.
• Support behavior intervention plans, safety procedures, and classroom expectations.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials for assigned students.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with district, state, and federal regulations.
• Participate in required meetings, trainings, and program planning sessions.
