About The Position

The Extended Day Program Assistant supervises students in St. Louis Catholic School’s after-school extended day program between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The role supports the school’s Catholic educational philosophy and mission and helps provide a safe, appropriately supervised environment for students. The employee is a collaborator in the school’s ministry and assists school leaders in carrying out that ministry.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Experience working with children is not required.
Valid Texas driver's license.
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout employment.
Supports the philosophy of Catholic education.
Effective in working with young children.
Dependable.

Responsibilities

Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
Model the teachings of the Catholic Church and serve as a witness to Gospel values.
Adhere to the school and Diocese Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters.
Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
Assist students in supervised activities and guide them in following program rules.
Respond to individual student needs and assist the coordinator with positive behavioral management procedures.
Help maintain records of student and parent sign-in and sign-out.
Assist with proper use of equipment, grounds, and buildings.
Know emergency procedures, including emergency phone number locations and building evacuation procedures.
Collaborate with peers to support the work environment and Extended Day Program.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals, and notify the Extended Day Coordinator about problems or concerns.
Demonstrate professionalism, follow direction, and handle multiple tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Extended Day Program Coordinator.
