About The Position

Saint Thomas More Cathedral School, located in Arlington VA, is seeking caring and responsible Extended Day Staff members to supervise and support students in our before- and after-school program. Extended Day Staff create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where students can complete homework, enjoy activities, and build positive relationships outside of the regular school day. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to be part of a faith-filled school community.

Requirements

Experience working with children preferred
Reliable, responsible, and flexible
Ability to supervise students in both structured and unstructured settings
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Commitment to supporting a Catholic school environment

Nice To Haves

some college coursework in education/child development preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise students in grades PreK–8 during before- and after-school care hours
Engage children in game and activities that promote social and emotional growth
Provide homework support as needed
Ensure a safe, nurturing environment and monitor student behavior with patience and care
Support snack distribution and assist with arrival and dismissal transitions
Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and administration
