Academies of Math and Science Extended Care Associate 2026–2027 Location: AMS Little Rock Compensation: $15.00 per hour Schedule: Required: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (aftercare; non-negotiable) Optional: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM (before-care, based on availability) Position Overview The Extended Care Associate is responsible for supervising students during before- and after-school programming. This role supports a safe, structured, and engaging environment where students can participate in activities, complete homework, and build positive relationships.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a school setting or customer service-related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate initiative
- Arkansas State Background Check
- Child Maltreatment Central Registry Check
- Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) required background clearance and fingerprinting
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with school-age children
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff
- Maintain a structured and supervised environment during extended care hours
- Support and facilitate daily activities aligned with the program schedule
- Assist with planning and leading age-appropriate activities
- Provide homework assistance and academic support
- Distribute snacks and supplies to students
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Support behavior management and reinforce expectations
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Collaborate with school staff to support student needs
- Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions
