About The Position

Crittenton Children's Center is looking for an Expressive Exercise Therapist to work with the Kansas City area's premier provider of psychiatric care for children, adolescents and their families. This position is concerned with providing expressive therapy modalities that are consistent with the treatment needs of patients and coordinating expressive therapy programs for patients through participation in the multidisciplinary treatment team throughout all programs. Cooperatively follows programs, completes assessments, documents behavior and progress. Plans and conducts group sessions with hospital patients ages 3-18 and group and individual sessions with residential patients ages 12-18. Assists in planning and facilitating 1 outing per quarter with residential patients. Plans and facilitates additional activities during summer and school breaks for residential patients. Assists in developing programs, completes assessments, documents behavior, and progress. Responsible for creating and implementing community integration outings. Assists in developing and executing special events programming throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (exercise, fitness, physical education, kinesiology, dance/movement therapy).
  • Relevant certification (CTRS, Trauma Informed Fitness Certificate, Certified Personal Trainer, ISSA, or NASM, BC-DMT).
  • 1 - 3 years of experience working with at-risk youth.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Mandt/CPI.
  • APS - Healthstream.
