About The Position

The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital offering psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, and activity therapists. The Ridge Behavioral Health System prides itself as being the only free-standing psychiatric hospital in the Central Kentucky area. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for over 39 years. The Expressive Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing various aspects of the expressive therapy program based upon each units needs and demographics; developing and implementing Recreation Therapy treatment plans in conjunction with and attends the interdisciplinary treatment team meetings; providing therapy consistent with level of growth, development, age, and functioning; providing therapy consistent with overall treatment goals; completing Recreation Therapy section of the treatment plan within 72 hours of admission for assigned patients; completing progress notes for assigned patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy OR Master’s Degree in Art or Education required
  • Board certification (MT-BC) or eligibility to sit for national exam conducted through the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT) licensure OR LPATA with supervision or LPAT/ATR-BC required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous inpatient mental health experience preferred
