Dolan Mazda/Kia Express/Lube Technician
About The Position
Dolan Mazda/Kia is seeking an Express/Lube Technician to perform oil changes according to manufacturer requirements and vehicle specifications. The role involves checking and communicating oil levels, ensuring proper tire pressure, inspecting and refilling fluids, installing new oil drain plugs and filters, cleaning and lubricating fittings, inspecting vehicles for fluid leaks after service, and maintaining a clean workstation and facility. The technician will also be responsible for installing accessories, operating Windows-based programs, reporting any additional issues to the foreman, rotating tires, changing wiper blades, performing tire repairs and balancing, and properly disposing of tires. A minimum expectation of $6500.00 in labor dollars produced per pay period (on a 2-person team) is required. The position also involves filling out multi-point inspection forms detailing measurements of tires, brakes, and conditions of fluids and belts. This position affects public safety, requiring pre-employment drug screening for controlled substances.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Possess an acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- 12 months of oil change experience.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
- Strong communication skills.
- A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service.
Responsibilities
- Change oil per manufacturer requirements and vehicle specifications.
- Check and communicate oil level to teammates.
- Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation, including spare tire.
- Inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary.
- Install a new oil drain plug gasket and new oil filter while performing lube, oil and filter change.
- Clean and lubricate fittings as needed.
- Inspect vehicle after service for fluid leaks.
- Maintain a clean work station.
- Clean and maintain facility.
- Install accessories.
- Operate Windows based programs.
- Notify foreman if any additional issues are discovered.
- Rotate tires (using only shop supplied key).
- Change wiper blades.
- Perform tire repair.
- Perform tire balance.
- Remove tires from shop, dispose in designated disposal area and keep tire area clean.
- Fill out multi-point inspection (MPI) forms that record measurements of tires, brakes, and conditions of fluids, belt hoses etc.
