About The Position

Iteris is seeking an Express Lane Operator to identify, communicate, and document roadway and tolling system events within the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s Express Lane (EL) Network. This role involves monitoring and recommending changes to toll rates and sign messaging based on traffic conditions and incidents. The operator will collaborate with staff from various agencies including the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), Caltrans District 4 Transportation Management Center, and the toll system developer, TransCore.

Responsibilities

Respond to, communicate, and document roadway incidents occurring within MTC’s Express Lane Roadway Network
Identify, communicate, and document Toll Collection System (TCS) issues and failures
Monitor and evaluate MTC’s Dynamic Pricing Algorithm, and recommend changes to toll prices based on current traffic conditions
Coordinate with agency and consultant staff on incident response and issue resolution
Perform ad-hoc and scheduled operational and system audits
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
Prepare and send the shift report
Provide after hours and emergency system performance support
Perform other duties as assigned
