About The Position

The Exposure Intelligence Analyst – Databases & Data Stores is the SME responsible for identifying and prioritizing exposure risk across data platforms, including RDBMS, NoSQL systems, data warehouses, object storage, and data permissions models. This role applies CTEM principles to identify exploitable exposure conditions that lead to unauthorized access, data exfiltration, or privilege misuse, partnering with data platform and engineering teams to reduce real enterprise exposure. The team operates within a newly established Exposure Management function in the broader cybersecurity organization, focused on modernizing how the enterprise identifies, prioritizes, and mitigates security vulnerabilities shifting from traditional patch approaches to a more strategic focus on true business risk and exploitability. Individual Contributor/ Lead Consultant roles are designed to bring in deep respective domain expertise (network, endpoint, cloud, identity, infrastructure, Databases & Data Stores, etc.) to bridge the gap between security insights and practical remediation strategies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in data platform security, cloud security, security engineering, or exposure management.
  • Understanding of data access models, permissioning, and common misconfiguration patterns.
  • Ability to translate data risk into business impact and remediation priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with object storage security, database hardening concepts, and data access governance.
  • Familiarity with cloud data services and their permission models.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to validate exposure hypotheses with queries/logs.

Responsibilities

  • Correlate security signals into exposure narratives focused on exploitability and impact.
  • Identify attack paths that lead to data access, privilege expansion, and sensitive data exposure.
  • Provide clear prioritization and remediation guidance; track closure outcomes.
  • Own SME coverage for data-layer exposure: insecure permissions, exposed storage, weak encryption posture, misconfigured access policies, risky service-to-service access.
  • Identify systemic patterns: over-broad access, stale entitlements, misconfigured storage endpoints, weak auditability.
  • Partner with data owners/platform teams to reduce exposure creation and improve prevention guardrails.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive technology setup, including a laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Monthly connectivity reimbursement to help offset internet costs for eligible remote employees.
