Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Instructor
About The Position
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Instructor will provide training including classroom and laboratory conference, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises, including computer-assisted instruction, according to lesson plans. Responsibilities include simulation/virtual training and/or field exercise training. Duties involve testing, planning, completing additional training, providing remedial assistance, and other course administrative matters. The instructor is expected to follow and understand the Program of Instruction, adhering to task, conditions, and standards, and instructing in accordance with the approved Program of Instruction. When not instructing, the individual will be cross-training, arranging and engaging in instructional preparation and testing, and serving as an Assistant Instructor on modules not currently certified to teach. The instructor will conform to safety and security standards and report discrepancies in cleanliness, safety, or security to the Government. As subject matter experts, they will participate in revisions and make pen and ink changes to Programs of Instruction, lesson plans, and training support materials to ensure training is doctrinally updated and accurate, reflecting current training strategies. Equipment maintenance is also a key responsibility, including maintaining equipment, entering faults, performing PMCS, preparing classrooms and training environments, and conducting and recording academic counseling. The instructor will also check test instruments and mock-ups when equipment is used for training.
Requirements
- Graduate of the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) Phase 2.
- At least two years as an EOD Team Leader.
- EOD Senior Badge Holder.
- Completed the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC), or its equivalent within the last five (5) years.
- Completed the TRADOC Initial Military Training (IMT) Installation Staff and Contractors Course (ISCC).
- Possess knowledge of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding the MOS-specific training.
- Able to pass all hands-on and written student tests in accordance with the Ordnance School Instructional Management SOP.
- Demonstrate familiarization with lab, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Personalize instructor guides.
- Complete knowledge and performance tests.
- Audit specific lesson topics.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent organization, planning, coordination, and time management skills.
- Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing and updating lesson plans and training materials.
- Outstanding communicative skills both verbal and nonverbal.
- Able to work with minimal guidance.
- Must possess a Secret Security Clearance.

- Complete refresher training if Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC) is outside the last five years.
