About The Position

A.S.P. Incorporated is seeking a K9 Security Specialist to join their K9 Explosive Dog Detection (EDD) Services, the largest private canine EDD service in Canada. This role involves conducting explosive detection searches and sweeps of various locations including office buildings, arenas, stadiums, conference centers, airport facilities, vehicles, and aircraft. The specialist will be responsible for maintaining a high level of training and readiness, handling threats and emergencies with integrity, respect, and responsibility, and ensuring the well-being of their assigned canine partner.

Requirements

Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education.
Eligible to work in Canada.
Proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office.
Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail.
Excellent written & verbal communication and active listening skills.
Must possess a valid Security licence.
Must possess an Ontario Driver's Licence (G or Higher) with a clear driving abstract.
Must possess Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
Must be willing to provide Criminal Record check upon request.

Responsibilities

Maintain a high level of training and readiness to respond to suspicious packages, unattended vehicles, facility sweeps, or other situations where the services of explosives detection canines are required.
Responsible for the 24-hour housing, care, and well-being of their assigned dogs.
Carry out K9 EDD screening duties at contracted locations (includes working indoors and outdoors under all different conditions).
Be flexible and willing to work in unpredictable, and often last-minute canine service requests.
Daily training on explosives detection and maintenance records complying with Federal Regulations.
