About The Position

The Vertex Exploratory Chemistry Co-Op is a 6-month experiential training program designed for students pursuing advanced degrees in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields. This program aims to provide meaningful experience in PD Media Development functional areas and serve as a launchpad for a student's career. Requirements

  • Currently working towards an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other related fields.
  • Senior, Master’s, PhD level.
  • Chemical Engineering/Chemistry degree.
  • LC-MS familiarity.
  • Experience with small molecule interactions, organic chemistry, experiments to determine the solubility and stability of small molecules.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize chemical reagents and mixtures to support T1D small molecule studies.
  • Support solubility and stability assessments for selected chemical mixtures under defined conditions in collaboration with PharmSci and AD.
  • Process and interpret LC-MS data to evaluate compound identity, integrity, and degradation profiles.
  • Document experimental methods, observations, and results in a clear and reproducible manner.
  • Summarize findings and provide recommendations to support optimization of factor kitting workflows for the T1D program.
