About The Position

This role is contingent upon award. Avalore, LLC is seeking an Exploitation Specialist / Data Analyst, Mid to support Department of War (DoW) customers in Springfield, VA. The Exploitation Specialist / Data Scientist, Expert shall support the maintenance of data holdings, ensure compliance to data standards, and perform quantitative analysis of data. Data analysis will involve transforming data, developing visuals to assist with data understanding, and conducting analysis to make recommendations on data strategies to improve Machine Learning (ML) model development. Additional activities include working with the team to enhance workflows, automate standard processes, and create efficient processes that result in greater preprocessing productivity. The role involves leading and conducting projects using advanced mathematical, statistical, and scientific techniques and principles to examine complex missions and operational problems and create insights from data. Support is provided for data analytics, data cleaning, analyst workflow efficiencies, and transformation supporting Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) capabilities. Statistical and analytic methods are applied to support answering intelligence questions, mission requirements, and advanced data analysis. The role includes building lightweight analytic tools to visualize data metrics and assess progress of data preprocessing efforts against Government goals. Methods and mechanisms are designed to track, report, and monitor data to ensure pipeline movements are timely and support all necessary processes. A system is developed to provide automated checks on data and processes to guarantee continuous pipeline support. Non-standard data and data in formats that are new within the Data Management Platform (DMP) are ingested and rectified for integration and curation. Data dictionaries are generated and managed to ensure information stays updated as data tables change. Data analysis expertise is provided for assistance in determining if imagery curation techniques and strategies are effective in identifying images of value (e.g., containing objects of interest or specific imagery characteristics).

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with CI Poly Eligibility
  • Experience preparing data, performing statistical analysis, and applying tools and algorithms to gain insights from large, complex geospatial datasets
  • Experience with programming languages and tools such as Python, R, SQL, GIS, or Tableau
  • Experience developing visualizations to communicate analytical results and to assist technical and non-technical audiences in understanding information from large datasets
