About The Position

This role provides a high-impact opportunity to shape enterprise CMDB strategy and ITOM architecture within a dynamic, mission-driven environment. The Expert Technical Systems Architect will lead the design, governance, and integration of configuration items across complex hybrid infrastructures, ensuring data quality, operational efficiency, and alignment with ITSM/ITOM processes. You will develop CMDB standards, playbooks, and training while collaborating with stakeholders, audit teams, and leadership to drive enterprise adoption. The position balances hands-on technical work with strategic influence, helping guide the organization’s ITOM maturity and platform evolution. Remote work flexibility allows you to operate effectively while engaging with cross-functional teams across time zones.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in ITSM, platform, or enterprise architecture roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
  • Deep expertise in ServiceNow platform and ITOM applications.
  • ITIL Foundation certification; architect-level certifications preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience; 10+ years of relevant experience can substitute for education.
  • Ability to pass Tier 2/Moderate Background Investigation clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement CMDB architecture, CI models, relationships, and data ingestion patterns.
  • Design reconciliation, normalization, and federation strategies for enterprise configuration data.
  • Lead CMDB governance, lifecycle policies, and health program initiatives.
  • Integrate data from monitoring, cloud, asset, and CI/CD systems to maintain an accurate CMDB.
  • Build maturity roadmaps and phased implementation plans to enhance ITOM operational capabilities.
  • Align CMDB and ITOM design with ITSM processes including Incident, Change, Asset, and AIOps.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop standards, playbooks, and training materials to ensure enterprise-wide adoption of best practices.
