About The Position

This role is for a passionate footwear designer who is highly creative, has a strong aesthetic, is a problem solver, has a deep knowledge of Performance and Lifestyle footwear, and is fluent in 3D and AI digital tools. The team collaborates with a wide range of Nike teams, so a positive outlook and strong relationships are essential. The designer will work on a wide range of footwear projects covering all categories of performance, lifestyle and innovation, this will also span “high-volume” projects to “one-off” inspirational concepts. The designer will lead projects from sketch ideation, concept visualization, presentation through to tech pack and revisions. The designer will also be working directly with our internal and external partners to test, evaluate and recommend new digital design tools. The designer will also need to mentor other designers across Nike on our new and innovative process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
• 8 yrs experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
• Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
• Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
• Strong sketching, illustration, visualization and rendering skills
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
• Fluent in 3D tools like Blender, Gravity Sketch, Fusion 360 or Rhino
• Fluent in AI tools like Vizcom, Blender, Runway or Sora
• Fluent in tools like Illustrator, Photoshop and Keynote

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
• 3D printing and prototyping skills are a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from sketch ideation, concept visualization, presentation through to tech pack and revisions.
• Work directly with internal and external partners to test, evaluate and recommend new digital design tools.
• Mentor other designers across Nike on new and innovative processes.
• Generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project.
