About The Position

This Level 5 engineering position leads complex experimental test projects involving mechanical, structural, materials, and environmental testing. The specialist translates engineering requirements into test concepts and strategies, designs, procedures, hardware selections, instrumentation, and data requirements, guiding work from planning through execution and results. The role applies advanced engineering principles and broad or specialized expertise to challenging problems, makes technical decisions and recommendations with significant impact, and works directly with engineering customers to define testing needs and provide technical direction. The specialist also develops test methods, procedures, standards, guidance, and technical documentation; identifies strategic improvements to laboratory methods and processes; and trains, mentors, and provides technical guidance to engineers and technicians. The position works independently under consultative direction, using judgment to investigate problems and optimize technical, cost, and schedule requirements. It supports Gulfstream aircraft research, design, development, service, and manufacture. This position is onsite in Savannah, Georgia, on the first shift, with travel up to 25%.
