Experiential Talent General Application

DANNY WIMMER PRESENTSLos Angeles, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

We are seeking Experiential Talent for the 2027 season across multiple markets, focusing on roles in creative production, design, and fabrication. This is physical work involving festival environments, scenic builds, activations, hospitality, stage and site design, and environmental graphics. The work is closer to construction and themed entertainment than marketing. We build, fabricate, and install temporary structures outdoors for events with fixed, immovable dates. Danny Wimmer Presents creates unforgettable experiences where music, fans, and brands come together. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, can meet urgent deadlines, and perform under pressure. Passion for music is essential, and we offer long-term growth opportunities for those willing to learn from the ground up. This is a single open talent search to build our 2027 roster, matching individuals to the right scope, market, and timeline.

Requirements

  • Large-scale live event, festival, touring, themed entertainment, or experiential background — outdoor, temporary, and at scale.
  • Delivery against fixed, immovable dates. The show opens whether or not you're ready.
  • Concurrent projects across overlapping build cycles in multiple markets.
  • Fluency reading and working from architectural, structural, and design drawings.
  • Experience seeing work through fabrication and installation — and holding quality in the field, not discovering problems at load-out.
  • On-site presence through load-in, build, show, and load-out, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays during build and show periods.
  • Willingness to travel to festival sites and fabrication shops.
  • Composure when the plan changes at 1 a.m. — and the judgment to make the call.
  • 5+ years in creative production, project management, or production management delivering physical builds against fixed dates (8+ for senior levels; coordinator level open to less).
  • Demonstrated ownership of project budgets — estimating, quantity takeoffs, forecasting, cost tracking, and change management.
  • Hands-on procurement: bid packages, competitive bidding, bid leveling, negotiation, and vendor management. We hold a three-bid minimum.
  • Experience enforcing build quality against drawings and specifications — shop inspection, first-article review, punch list, and acceptance.
  • Experience onboarding and directing contractors and labor crews on site.
  • Working proficiency in project management, budgeting, and document control platforms.
  • 7+ years in environmental, production, scenic, exhibit, themed entertainment, or architectural design for director-level roles.
  • Advanced Vectorworks — worksheets, viewports, external references, data visualization; experience working in a shared, multi-user file environment.
  • Real-time rendering and visualization (Chaos Enscape or equivalent), including renderings produced for sales and sponsor audiences.
  • Fluency translating 3D models into 2D design intent drawings, and producing architectural and structural documentation.
  • Working knowledge of code, permitting, egress, capacity, and life safety as they apply to temporary event structures and assembly occupancies.
  • Experience engaging and coordinating outside design consultants and structural engineers.
  • A portfolio of built work — designed, documented, and installed, not only rendered.
  • You design for the build, not for the render: buildability, budget, sightlines, weather, durability, and the guest at eye level.
  • Vectorworks preferred; non-architectural 3D and animation tools a plus.
  • Large-scale scenic, structural, or environmental build experience.
  • Seasonal availability through build and show windows, including travel to site.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction or general contracting project controls experience is a strong plus.
  • 3D scanning, point cloud, and LiDAR in a CAD environment; Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, or Cinema 4D; FAA Part 107.
  • Experience designing for reuse and modularity across multiple events is valued — our assets travel.

Responsibilities

  • Own experiential scope for a festival or market end to end — estimating, procurement, schedule, vendors, quality, and on-site delivery.
  • Lead design for a market, or produce the drawing packages that get it built, permitted, and installed.
  • Design the spaces people move through — activations, VIP and premium environments, stages, scenic, retail, camping, and site-wide atmosphere.
  • Ability to produce design intent drawings and coordinate with CAD, engineering, and fabrication.
  • Shop build and on-site install across the season.
  • Ability to read and build from shop drawings and specifications.

Benefits

  • Long-term growth opportunities
  • Remote development and planning work
  • Freelance / independent contractor engagements
  • Potential for extension into 2028
  • Potential for contract roles to lead to full-time opportunities
