About The Position

Bennett Thrasher, a nationally recognized public accounting firm, is seeking experienced Staff to join their Real Estate & Hospitality Tax team. This role focuses on complex tax compliance and consulting engagements, working collaboratively to deliver value to clients. The firm offers the scale and opportunity of a large firm with a strong culture and family-oriented environment, with offices in Atlanta, Dallas, and Denver. The Real Estate & Hospitality practice is a leading advisor to clients operating in a complex and highly competitive environment, supporting real estate businesses through economic cycles and evolving regulations by delivering practical, tailored tax and advisory solutions. Professionals work alongside a multidisciplinary group of specialists serving clients across multi-family, retail, industrial, and commercial real estate transactions. The Tax Staff member will work as part of a team, utilizing resources to add value to clients, and will assist with all stages of the preparation process for tax compliance engagements.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Basic knowledge of Federal and state income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • Proven time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Actively studying and preparing for the CPA certification

Responsibilities

  • Engages in professional communication with clients under supervision of Managers and Seniors
  • Accurately and efficiently prepares partnership, S Corporation and individual tax returns and utilizes feedback to prevent from repeating errors
  • Prepares income tax projections and estimate calculations for clients
  • Conducts research, analysis, development and summarization of financial information
  • Analyzes accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Maintains and organizes client files in accordance with firm standards
  • Maintains open communication with management regarding the progress of completion on projects
  • Uses critical thinking to investigate client financials and fix any discrepancies
  • Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities
  • Supports Interns in professional development
