Phantom Works Experienced Systems Engineer (Systems Security)

About The Position

Boeing Phantom Works is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer (Systems Security) candidate cognizant of low-level cryptographic system elements including algorithms, security architecture, and systems employment. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of NSA cryptographic embedment design rules, and possibly NSA crypto module development process, artifacts, design practices, and certification requirements for either or both High Assurance and/or CSfC implementations. Knowledge of FIPS 140-3 design and certification practices are also useful and a good starting point for this position. As the implementation work supporting this level of knowledge is only sporadically done within Boeing (but does happen occasionally) the ability to work with NSA approved cryptographic suppliers to support embedment and contract execution in programs while supporting architectural guidance is also a key aspect of this job. Finally, the ability to directly support software development within and around crypto module development is a big plus. Candidate must be familiar with all the following areas (ideally with current NSA guidance and algorithms) within the realm of implementation or embedding cryptographic solutions: COMSEC (Architecture, Algorithms, and Synchronization) TRANSEC (Architecture, Algorithms, and Synchronization) Data in Transit (DIT) architectures Data At Rest (DaR) Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and Bypass Key Management Systems

  • Knowledge of low-level cryptographic system elements, including algorithms, security architecture, and system implementation/employment.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic solution areas such as COMSEC, TRANSEC, Data in Transit (DIT), Data at Rest (DaR), Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), and Key Management Systems.
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
