About The Position

This is a part-time role at a BioLife plasma donation center. Most shifts last 4 to 6 hours per day, at least 3 days per week. Availability and shift days and times will be confirmed early in the interview process, and schedule changes will be communicated in advance. The position supports plasma center operations by screening donors and performing phlebotomy. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and includes paid, interactive training. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above the shoulders and below the knees.
Ability to lift up to 5 lbs., occasionally lift materials up to 32 lbs., and rarely lift up to 50 lbs.
Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
Prolonged glove wear for 90% of work tasks due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in a customer- or patient-facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
Perform donor venipuncture and program plasmapheresis machines.
Monitor donors during donation and manage donor reactions.
Set up, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment within the scope of training.
Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
Stock supplies, break down empty cartons, and assist with proper disposal.
Take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, and monitor the electronic donor questionnaire system.
Perform finger sticks, test samples, and record donor measures including hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
Enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
Coordinate donors to the donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.
Support the center management team in identifying operational improvement opportunities and initiating process changes using company-approved procedures, including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen.
