About The Position

Stratas Foods, headquartered in Cordova, TN, is a 50/50 joint venture formed in October 2008 between ACH Food Companies and Archer Daniels Midland Company. Built on over 200 years of combined experience, Stratas Foods aims to be the most valued supplier of fats, oils, dressings, mayonnaise, and salad dressings to the private label retail bottled oils market in the United States, providing value-added, branded, and custom-formulated solutions to the Food Service, Food Ingredient, and Retail sectors. The company has manufacturing facilities across multiple states and corporate offices in Memphis, TN. Stratas Foods is committed to maintaining a progressive workplace and building a team capable of meeting its business goals.The position involves analyzing a variety of oil samples, including income crude oil samples, samples from various points in the oil process, finished storage samples, and samples from tank trucks being shipped to customers. This includes performing any combination of forty analytical tests.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years previous laboratory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicate test results to facilitator when test indicates corrective action is necessary.
  • Prioritize oil samples as they arrive in the laboratory.
  • Complete truck paperwork so shipments can depart in a timely manner.
  • Record data in the appropriate written logs from a permanent record and as insurance against lost computer records.
  • Enter test results into an automated Quality Control Database for each sample tested.
  • Packaging line quality assurance.
  • Finished product and incoming material testing.
  • Storage of production retains.
  • Communicate with supervisor/lead person of laboratory results.
  • Learn operating procedures for new testing equipment as it is introduced to the lab.
  • Develop a thorough enough understanding of laboratory processes to be able to contribute insightful methods for streamlining processes.
