About The Position
Bastrop Veterinary Hospital is actively seeking an experienced Pet Groomer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled groomer with an existing skillset who is ready to step into a busy, established client base and earn competitive commission-based income. Candidates must have prior professional dog grooming experience. We do not offer training for this position.
Requirements
- Proven professional grooming experience (REQUIRED)
- Your own grooming tools (clippers, scissors, brushes, blower, etc.)
- High-quality, compassionate grooming services
- Reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and manage your schedule
- Prior experience as a dog groomer (required)
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift and handle dogs of all sizes
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cats is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform full-service grooming: bathing, brushing, clipping, nail trims, and styling
- Evaluate coat and skin condition and recommend appropriate services
- Safely handle and restrain pets to ensure a stress-free experience
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming workspace
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming needs and preferences
- Keep accurate grooming records and client notes
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure pet health and safety
