About The Position

General Dynamics Electric Boat is hiring an Experienced Electrical Engineer to help design, develop, test, and deliver electrical systems for the U.S. Navy’s submarine fleet. The role involves solving complex, multidisciplinary engineering problems and working with a diverse team to support submarine electrical systems.

Work may include developing and reviewing electrical system diagrams and interfaces, evaluating cableway designs and routing drawings, troubleshooting construction issues, writing procedures for testing and maintaining electrical systems, coordinating with internal customers to ensure installation follows plans, and supporting installation and testing with operations. The position also includes reviewing and mentoring junior engineers.

Some work may be performed remotely under Electric Boat’s flexible work arrangements. The extent depends on the position and factors such as the department’s handling of classified material; applicants are advised to ask the department for details.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar electrical education.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret-level clearance.
• 10 or more years of post-graduate engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

• Prior systems engineering experience with a defense contractor.
• Former submarine service.
• Shipyard or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities
