1st & 2nd SHIFT OKUMA 5 AXIS EXPERIENCED CNC MACHINISTS
About The Position
Acme Industries, a high-quality precision manufacturing company serving aerospace, defense, power generation, mining, and transportation sectors since 1948, is seeking experienced Okuma 5-axis Machinists for its 1st and 2nd shifts. The 2nd shift offers a 10% differential. This position involves operating CNC machines with OSP-P300 CNC Control to manufacture quality parts from castings and forgings. Typical hours are 6:00 am-4:30 pm for 1st shift and 4:20 pm-2:50 am for 2nd shift, Monday-Friday. Overtime availability, including weekends, is a plus. A hire-on bonus of up to $3500 is offered. The hourly pay range is $27.00-$29.00, with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
Requirements
- Five or more years of combined formal training and true five-axis experience or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures, specifically the Okuma 5-axis OSP-P300 CNC Control.
- Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are close.
- Experience with part loading/unloading utilizing a crane and basic material handling knowledge.
- Experience with manual clamping/part location.
- Experience with tool setup and compensation processes.
- Geometric tolerancing and dimensioning trained.
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Exhibit an unrelating pursuit of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Follow written instructions and read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finish specifications.
- Able to perform simple set-ups of many jobs. May operate more than one machine.
- Check parts for conformance to specifications with precision gauges.
- Read and react accordingly to Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) reports.
- Complete problem-solving activities with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
