About The Position

Visiting Angels of Bettendorf is hiring an Experienced Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the Quad Cities area, including Davenport, Bettendorf, and Muscatine. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, household tasks, mobility support, meal preparation, medication reminders, and companionship. Caregivers must be prepared to respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The posting lists full-time, part-time, PRN, 8-hour, 12-hour, and short-shift options. Pay is $14.00–$16.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Excellent time-management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
Provide meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.
