About The Position

Arrowstreet is an award-winning architecture, interiors, and experience design firm based in Boston, with over 60 years of expertise. We take a design-forward approach, focusing on sustainability to create thoughtful designs across our diverse portfolio to provide engaging, impactful experiences, and spaces that bring people together. We are looking for a senior level Experience Designer to join our team. You will take a senior role and serve as a key collaborator in the development of signage within aviation and transportation environments. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience with complex, multi-phased wayfinding and signage projects. This is an on-site position; remote work is not available.

Requirements

  • 7-12 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, architecture or related field
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills and development of junior staff
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), CADtools Plug-In, and PC/Windows platform.
  • A strong design sensibility with the ability to look at design broadly to integrate messaging, color, imagery, and type into three-dimensional built solutions.
  • Possess understanding of materials and fabrication techniques, and the ability to turn design concepts into detailed design intent drawings
  • Familiarity with ADA and the approvals process
  • Strong working relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Revit and Rhino.

Responsibilities

  • Use expertise in graphic design, experience design principles, and best practices to develop creative concepts which integrate messaging, color, imagery, and type into three-dimensional built solutions
  • Manage complex projects with simultaneous deadlines
  • Conduct presentations and facilitate client meetings
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to produce cohesive and effective wayfinding and signage.
  • Provide direction and guidance to junior staff to enhance their development and growth
  • Follow through on coordination items, anticipate, and communicate how changes and development impact the project holistically
  • Translate design concepts into detailed and accurate design intent drawings, message schedules, sign location plans, and specifications.
  • Manage project schedules, deadlines, and budgets
  • Assist with the construction administration process to ensure design intent.
  • Independently produce elevations, sections, diagrams, and 3D renderings.
  • Provide product research, considering design, budget, and constructability
