The Expeditor for distribution construction is responsible for the process of expediting jobs issued for construction by the customer. This includes verifying job packets with a site visit, checking and/or requesting necessary permits, acquiring all locates, checking the bill of materials against job prints, making contact notices to residents and businesses prior to work being performed, managing traffic control requirements, and other various pre-construction requirements and best practices. The role involves working with vendors and suppliers to effectively plan and schedule to support the project, analyzing bills of materials for adequacy, requesting missing materials, and notifying of discrepancies before work is handed to the field. The Expeditor will lead problem resolution, identify and escalate issues to management, provide input on action plans for long-term issues, support field construction crews, and comply with purchasing and contract management instructions. They will also locate vendors for materials, equipment, supplies, or services and submit them for approval, maintain accurate project records, and assemble final job packets for client handover.
