Requirements

Must meet initial employment requirements.
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend applicable written and/or oral instructions.
Must be physically fit to perform the above job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation.
Ability to operate typewriter, calculator, computer, and reproduction machines.
Must have a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
All qualifications, work history, training, and education are to be verified by direct contact with former employers and/or documented proof.
Ability to perform the functions and responsibilities involved will be determined by a comprehensive interview and background evaluation.
At least one year experience in related work or equivalent.
Must have relevant experience operating a Forklift (recent work experience within the last five years, or successful completion of Texas State Technical College's Forklift Training course within the last two years).
Successfully complete a Reading Comprehension Assessment.
Successfully complete an Accuracy Assessment.
Successfully complete a Self-Assessment (for external applicants only).
Must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (High School diploma, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Ability to use small tools.
Ability to perform safety-sensitive duties.
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Requires Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification. If not currently certified, the certification process will be initiated upon assumption of the position.
U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants.

Responsibilities

Expedites movement of all materials from various places throughout the plant.
Maintains inventory of special tooling, classified parts, and other components to ensure smooth production flow.
Assigns and records serial numbers for shipment and maintains shipping/receiving documents.
Maintains accountability records for explosive pieces and raw materials, verifying details using manual and computer-based records.
Operates office equipment such as typewriters, adding machines, calculators, and computers.
Orders and maintains stock of office and packaging supplies.
Inspects equipment and storage buildings for defects and reports irregularities.
Arranges for equipment movement for calibration and preventive maintenance, and maintains files.
Cleans rest bays, packaging and shipping bays, and storage magazines, ensuring proper material storage.
Cleans and decontaminates material handling equipment and containers.
Packages products, materials, and equipment in accordance with DOT regulations for outgoing shipments.
Prepares Move-Order Requests for materials and equipment.
Performs physical inventory of materials in storage and prepares reports.
Arranges storage areas to ensure segregation of in-process material.
Maintains a high degree of accuracy in all job functions.
Schedules, performs, and maintains the flow of own work without direct supervision.
Monitors jobs through machining and gauging to meet shipping deadlines.
Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures, DOE and DOT regulations, and safety and security regulations.
Responsible for the security, condition, and accountability of raw materials, hardware, fixtures, components, and Safety Significant (SS) material.
Held accountable for hardware, fixtures, explosives, and other raw materials stored for other agencies at Pantex.
Handles and moves hazardous materials as assigned, in all types of weather, inside and outside, working in non-temperature controlled buildings and ramps.
Submits required reports, conducts inventories, and compiles data for accounting and auditing purposes.
Controls the level of supplies, forms, and materials for efficient operations.
Responsible for the care and protection of classified materials and documents.
Expedites all incoming and outgoing materials.
Handles products, equipment, and materials in accordance with safe operating procedures.
Ensures proper handling, transporting, and/or storage of hazardous materials according to standards and schedules.
Responsible for cleanliness and neatness of work areas.
Properly cares for machines and equipment, reporting defects and irregularities.
Processes and checks pressing cards.
Ensures all parts are X-rayed (accept or reject).
Ensures materials do not remain in an out-of-control environment in excess of authorized time limits.
May train new employees.
Annually checks fluid levels on all containers of wet High Explosives (HE) and samples each lot.
Maintains knowledge of applicable Federal, State, DOE, Corporate and Plant rules, regulations, Labor Agreements, and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures.
Attends and/or successfully completes training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department.
Participates in worker involvement, including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls.
Understands a worker’s right to stop work when they feel their own or other’s personal safety is jeopardized.
Attends all required safety meetings and training; offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
