Capitol Dental is seeking an Expanded Practice Hygienist (EPDH) for a community outreach role. This position offers a flexible schedule and supports professional growth. The EPDH will serve as a primary care provider, working independently in various community locations to deliver comprehensive hygiene services, including assessments, preventive treatments, intra-oral photos, and X-rays. Utilizing telehealth technology, the EPDH will collaborate with a collaborating dentist for chart reviews, diagnoses, and treatment plans for restorative needs. The EPDH may also prescribe antibiotics under guidance and can be trained in restorative procedures. This role requires a high level of accountability, organizational skills, and communication. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, independent, and proactive in managing their schedule and patient base to ensure continuous access to care, allowing both the EPDH and the dentist to practice at the highest scope of their licensure. The EPDH will act as the Oral Health Champion in medical clinics, hospitals, and community settings, collaborating with medical providers for integrated oral and primary care. Responsibilities also include administrative tasks such as insurance verification and using EHR (dental and medical software), Word, and Excel. Marketing, education, and professional collaboration within community settings are key, involving educating patients, colleagues, and stakeholders on oral health, and working to recruit and schedule patients for dental services.
