About The Position

Comfort Dental Care & Orthodontics – Mary Esther is seeking an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA/EDDA) to join its team in Mary Esther, Florida. The role supports general and restorative dental care and involves performing expanded dental assisting duties within Florida's permitted scope of practice. The successful candidate will provide attentive patient care, work collaboratively with the clinical team, and help maintain an efficient, positive, patient-focused office environment.

Requirements

Completion of a qualifying expanded-functions training program recognized by the Florida Board of Dentistry.
Florida dental radiography qualifications.
Previous dental assisting experience, preferably in restorative and general dentistry.
Strong clinical skills and the ability to work confidently and efficiently.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, team-oriented attitude.
Dependability, organization, and passion for patient care.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during a variety of general and restorative dental procedures.
Perform expanded dental assisting functions within Florida's permitted scope of practice.
Place and finish temporary restorations and perform other authorized expanded duties based on training.
Take dental X-rays and impressions as permitted by Florida regulations.
Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain infection control standards.
Educate patients on procedures, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
Work closely with the clinical team to maintain an efficient, positive, and patient-focused environment.
