About The Position
The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) will assist doctors with various tasks including charting, placement of fillings, operatory setup and cleanup, and patient education. This role requires adherence to state regulations and compliance for expanded duties. The EFDA will assist in clinical procedures such as placing amalgam fillings, adapting temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments, with limitations based on state requirements. Responsibilities also include recording and reviewing patient health history and chart entries in dental software under the doctor's direction, ensuring all forms and signatures are complete. The EFDA will assist the dentist in managing medical and dental emergencies and provide postoperative instructions as prescribed. Maintaining the cleanliness of the dental practice, both internally and externally, is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
