About The Position

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is a rapidly expanding, multi-specialty dental group seeking an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA). The company boasts over 100 award-winning doctors and offers a comprehensive range of dental services, including general dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dental care across numerous locations in the United States. This role offers a sign-on bonus of $2000 and opportunities for career growth within the organization.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of dental assisting (EDDA) experience.
  • Experience in multi-surface filling and dentures.
  • Active CPR and AED training.
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training.

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide.
  • Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience.
  • Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, including composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, taking FMX, charting, sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, and extractions.
  • Prioritize patient safety and team safety.
  • Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and dispose of sharps and clinical waste promptly and safely.
  • Maintain digital patient records, including health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details.
  • Educate patients and parents on the importance of good oral health.
  • Monitor the patient's physical and emotional well-being throughout their visit.
  • Prepare tray set-ups according to the doctor's preferences and planned procedures.
  • Ensure exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked to required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction.
  • Chart existing treatment for new patients by updating patient charts with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
  • Review patient charts and health histories before the doctor's arrival and reconfirm the patient's chief concern.
  • Take diagnostic quality X-rays and attach them to the patient chart.
  • Assist the Rodeo Team in cleaning surfaces, sinks, floors, and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, and restrooms.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
