Requirements

Current Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) certification required
Knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and expanded-duty functions
Strong communication and patient care skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Positive attitude, patience, and team-focused mindset

Nice To Haves

Previous pediatric dental experience preferred

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist with expanded dental procedures and duties, ensuring all materials and instruments are prepared and available
Stay a step ahead of the doctor by knowing all necessary materials and supplies for patient treatments
Provide clear and compassionate verbiage to explain procedures and care instructions to patients and parents
Perform triage for parents and patients, addressing concerns and gathering relevant information
Execute proper four-handed pass-off techniques to ensure seamless handoffs of instruments and materials during procedures
Maintain a clean and organized operatory, adhering to infection control protocols
Support patient comfort and anxiety management throughout dental visits
Document patient information accurately and update records as needed
