About The Position

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, verifying, and shipping customer orders and inter-branch transfers. The incumbent ensures that goods are shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with company procedures. This job description is particularly suited to a distribution and logistics environment such as a warehouse or product distribution center.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with safety guidelines.
Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble orders according to purchase orders and shipping documents.
Verify the accuracy of products, quantities, and destinations prior to shipment.
Package goods safely to prevent damage during transportation.
Generate and process shipping documentation (delivery slips, bills of lading, labels, etc.).
Coordinate carrier pickups and transportation arrangements.
Enter and maintain shipment tracking information in company systems.
Perform inventory transfers between warehouses or branch locations.
Report any discrepancies, including missing, damaged, or incorrect merchandise.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping area.
Follow company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Receiving, and Warehouse teams.
