About The Position

The Term Exhibit Preparer, Paleo Project Part-time is a unique position developed specifically to address the complexity and workload in building the new Elizabeth Williams Robinson Hall of Dinosaurs. It requires a mixture of administration skills related to the non-profit business side of the build, combined with abilities to further project objectives by fabricating elements of the exhibit. The person who accepts this this role will have unique access to daily operations and the tracking of progress related to the project. Therefore, it is a role that requires prior experience, aptitude, and accountability related to those responsibilities. While it is a unique opportunity, it is designated as a term position that corresponds with the duration of the project. Additional duties may be required on an as-needed basis to advance the project.

Responsibilities

  • Advance all purchases through the designated internal process.
  • Code receipts, add paperwork, file.
  • Advance contractor paperwork to approval agents and accounting.
  • Work with bids, generate requests through email.
  • Maintain current objectives with vendors and design contacts by email/phone.
  • Make local Board side purchases in person, i.e. paint, hardware.
  • Keep communication current with Administration and Interpretation.
  • Occasionally organize volunteers on duties and objectives.
  • Coordinate subcontractors build needs, equipment rental, etc.
  • Make arrangements for incoming deliveries if applicable.
  • Apply metalworking and woodworking techniques being used in production.
  • Advance design solutions digitally, if needed.
  • Use art-related creative techniques on exhibit features.
  • Teach others build techniques, if applicable.
  • Fabricate some of the many components of the large-scale build.
  • Assist the team by working in tandem with other fabricators.
