About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Production Supervisor is an integral part of a project team and provides leadership for aspects of production division issues and responsibilities. Collaborates with design and development. May engage in direct production activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Museum experience is essential.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with shop tools, equipment, and carpentry techniques.
  • Must have integrated understanding of the work activities of the department.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: mount-making, carpentry, specialized fabrication techniques, replication, and structural knowledge.
  • Skilled in administrative and supervisory tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficient computer skills.
  • Exemplary ability to work as a team member.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of production on projects assigned.
  • Works as part of the core project team department Managers, Designers, and Developers to produce budgets and schedules.
  • Attends and may initiate project planning and track meetings.
  • Provides direct supervision and training to the production crew - Preps I - III.
  • Provides a supportive environment for the project team.
  • Participates in the long and short-range department planning and policies.
  • Participates in assigning grade 5,6 and 7 positions.
  • May engage in direct production activities as needed.
