Exercise Physiologist

About The Position

Saint Clare's Health is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to evaluate and treat Phase 2 and Phase 3 patients in accordance with New Jersey state requirements and standards established by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and the American College of Sports Medicine. The role supports a safe and effective exercise environment and implements programs established by the department. The physiologist supervises monitored and maintenance patients and provides case management for Phase 3 patients. Duties may also include evaluating patients with complex medical needs, instructing patients during initial exercise sessions, progressing exercise prescriptions according to protocols, educating patients about risk-factor modification, and interpreting telemetry tracings and patients' responses to exercise.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science or a related field.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Basic computer knowledge.

Nice To Haves

1 to 2 years of experience in a hospital-based cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation program preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide case management for Phase 3 patients.

Provide instruction during patients' initial exercise sessions, as needed.
Progress exercise prescriptions according to protocols, as needed.
Educate patients on risk-factor modification, as needed.
Read and interpret telemetry tracings and patients' responses to exercise.
