Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology required or Bachelor's Degree Kinesiology required or Master's Degree Exercise Physiology preferred
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • experience working in an acute care hospital/cardiac rehabilitation program 2-3 years preferred
  • Skillfully utilize and maintain specialized equipment, devices and computer program.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of acceptable ranges of blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and EKG and reports any abnormal values to RN.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently with only general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for stress tests by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have.
  • Apply electrodes and other monitoring devices to patients to measure their heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital signs during the test.
  • Administer stress tests, such as exercise stress tests or pharmacological stress tests, to evaluate the patient's cardiovascular health.
  • Monitor patients during the stress test and responding to any issues or complications that arise.
  • Document results of the stress test and communicating them to the supervising physician.
  • Maintain equipment and ensuring that it is functioning properly.
  • Assist in the scheduling of stress tests and other cardiology procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
