About The Position
Ascension Saint Thomas West is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join their Cardiac Rehab department. This PRN, Day Shift position involves designing and supervising evidence-based exercise therapy, performing pre- and post-rehabilitation testing, identifying contraindications, delivering health and exercise education, and maintaining clinical equipment and departmental records. The role also includes providing operational oversight in the manager's absence.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and supervise evidence-based exercise therapy using patient test data, medical status, and medication regimens.
- Perform pre- and post-rehabilitation testing while monitoring physiological responses to adapt treatment plans.
- Identify contraindications or abnormal responses and execute appropriate clinical interventions or medical referrals.
- Deliver specialized health and exercise education to patients, staff, and the community through classes and public speaking.
- Maintain clinical equipment and departmental records while providing operational oversight in the manager’s absence.
