About The Position

This role is for an Exercise Physiologist at Ascension, a leading nonprofit Catholic health system. The position is located in Indianapolis, IN, within the Public Safety Medical facility in the Wellness Preventative Care department. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with start times varying based on travel. The role involves significant travel, with 65% total breakdown: 40% overnight travel (hotel/lodging, meals, mileage reimbursement, and a $125 per-night bonus) and 25% local travel (within an hour of the Indianapolis office, with company vehicles potentially available or mileage reimbursement).

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
Bachelor's degree required.

Nice To Haves

Certification specializing in Sports Medicine preferred.
Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred.
Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and adapt tailored exercise therapy plans using baseline assessments, health status, and medication profiles to help patients safely achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Monitor patient vital signs and exercise responses in real time, recognizing key contraindications to ensure every session is delivered with maximum clinical safety.
Lead dynamic community and patient education classes to empower individuals with the knowledge they need for long-term health and wellness.
Keep department equipment and patient records impeccably maintained, ensuring seamless daily operations and high standards of care.
Step up as a shift leader in the manager’s absence to support team workflow and maintain unbroken continuity of patient care.
