About The Position

As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a vital role in improving patient health and wellness by designing, implementing, and supervising physical exercise programs. You will work directly with patients, assessing their needs, planning individualized therapy, and monitoring progress. Your expertise will help patients achieve their health goals while ensuring safety and effectiveness in every session.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Athletic Trainer credentialed from the Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient testing and assessments before and after rehabilitation to measure progress and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Design and teach exercise therapy programs tailored to individual patient needs, considering test data, health status, and medication regimens.
  • Monitor patient responses to exercise, recognizing contraindications and abnormal reactions, and take appropriate action, including exercise cessation and referrals.
  • Provide exercise education to patients, peers, and the community through public speaking and educational classes.
  • Ensure department equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly, while maintaining accurate records and scheduling patient appointments.
  • Oversee department activities in the absence of the manager, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to protocols.
