About The Position

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join their Cardiac Rehabilitation department. This part-time role involves performing patient assessments, designing and instructing customized exercise therapy, monitoring patient responses, providing education, and managing department operations in the manager's absence.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Bachelors degree required.

Nice To Haves

Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred.
Masters degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform pre- and post-rehabilitation testing to evaluate patient capacity.
Design and instruct customized exercise therapy based on test data, health status, and medication regimens.
Continuously monitor patient responses during exercise, promptly recognizing abnormal reactions or contraindications to cease exercise and initiate medical referrals when necessary.
Provide evidence-based physical activity education and guidance to patients, clinical peers, and the community through instruction and public educational sessions.
Maintain and calibrate department equipment, manage patient records and scheduling, and provide operational oversight for department activities in the manager's absence.
