About The Position

Develops exercise prescription and oversees exercise progression in patients with chronic diseases. Leads team members by demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge of job responsibilities. This role involves assessments for Executive Physicals and Health Fit Assessments, conducting stress tests using electrocardiograph (EKG) machines, recommending methods to increase lifestyle physical activity, explaining exercise program or physiological testing procedures to participants, monitoring and recording patient symptoms or changes, advising patients about nutrition and ongoing exercise regimens, teaching classes, and conducting research. The position also requires thorough and legible documentation in the patient chart and adherence to hospital and department procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology or Bachelor's Degree Kinesiology required
  • Experience working in an acute care hospital/cardiac rehabilitation program 2-3 years required
  • Skillfully utilize and maintain specialized equipment, devices and computer program.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of acceptable ranges of blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and EKG and reports any abnormal values to RN.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently with only general supervision.

  • Master's Degree Exercise Physiology preferred
