The Exercise Physiologist - Cardio Diagnostics is responsible for interpreting physiological data from stress tests to determine individualized exercise prescriptions. This role involves planning and implementing treatment programs based on patient evaluations, and modifying exercise prescriptions based on cardiac symptomatology, exercise intolerance, or musculoskeletal/orthopedic issues. The position works closely with physicians to determine program eligibility and progression, and establishes and presents health education programs for patients on exercise and risk factor reduction. The role also involves placing electrodes for cardiac monitors, counseling patients on home activity programs, assisting in cardiac emergencies, and potentially serving as a mentor for staff seeking certification. Additionally, the Exercise Physiologist assists in monitoring outpatient cardiac rehabilitation exercise groups and performs patient positioning and transporting duties that require lifting and pushing/pulling.
